VIDEO: Public Backs Solar

August 30, 2012 By Tom Niemisto, Video Production Specialist

In more ways than one, Minnesota is leading the way to the new energy economy. Innovative technology is driving down the cost of photovoltaic systems and driving up the energy generation efficiency. Energy leaders and policy makers recently toured Bloomington-based tenKSolar, which manufactures photovoltaic units that are up to 50% more efficient than standard solar panels.

According to recent public opinion surveys, enthusiasm among Minnesotans for alternative energy is skyrocketing, which is reflected in their support for policymakers to prioritize solar and wind energy generation.

Our city has tenKsolar panels on the roof of our city hall. The project to install the 7.5KW system has been very beneficial to the city and the project not only involved tenKsolar, but also Rural Renewable Energy Alliance (RREAL) and Sundial Solar. All are Minnesota companies!
Installing solar PV panels not only makes good sense because we reduce our carbon footprint and stimulate our Minnesota economy, it makes sense for our city budget!
