Tom Niemisto, Video Production Specialist

Tom Niemisto

Tom Niemisto produces documentary stories with a focus on social change. A graduate of St. Olaf College with a degree in music and media studies, Tom’s work has broadcast on KFAI Minneapolis, WAMC Albany, and KUOW Puget Sound. A recent Minnesota 2020 short documentary film was recently featured on the “MNTV Showcase” on Twin Cities Public Television and is on display at the Walker Art Center.

Before joining Minnesota 2020 in 2010 he produced an environmental podcast with the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater in Poughkeepsie, NY, and taught a course with the Media Institute for Social Change in St. Paul.

Tom is also an active cellist, performing with the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in Minneapolis, and volunteers at KFAI Community Radio.
